PRESIDENT'S LETTER

Dear AAENP Members,

Happy National Nurse Practitioner Week! This special week, dedicated to recognizing the invaluable contributions of NPs across the nation, serves as a reminder of the critical role we play in healthcare, and the need for legislative support to practice to the full extent of our education and certification.

As we reflect on the significance of National Nurse Practitioner Week, it is heartening to witness the exceptional care and dedication that NPs working in emergency care provide to their patients every day. This week offers us a unique platform to showcase our expertise, foster public understanding, and advocate for the removal of outdated barriers that hinder us from delivering the best possible care.

In the spirit of celebrating NPs, I am thrilled to announce the recipients of this year's AAENP Annual Awards, recognizing outstanding achievements in various domains:

  • Excellence in Community Engagement: Ken Stackhouse
  • Excellence in Leadership: Juan Gonzalez
  • Excellence in Advocacy: Fred Barton
  • Excellence in Practice: Michael Sweeney
  • Student Excellence: Ari Chaskes
  • Excellence in Research: Dian Evans

These individuals have demonstrated exceptional dedication to the emergency NP role, embodying the values and commitment that make our profession truly extraordinary. Their accomplishments not only reflect their personal excellence but also contribute to the advancement of NP practice.

I invite each of you to join me in congratulating our colleagues on their well-deserved recognition. Their achievements inspire us all to strive for excellence in our own work and further elevate the care we provide to our patients.

Warm regards,
