AAENP Nominations & Elections Are Coming Soon!
The Inaugural 2024 Nominations & Elections process will launch in early July, with voting open to AAENP members during the first two weeks of October. This process was part of the early vision and strategic plan developed by our founding Board of Directors. This is a bylaws-driven process with board-approved policies and procedures guiding the process, assuring an orderly rollout on a specified timeline as follows: Call for Nominations for Nominations & Elections Committee Members as well as Board Directors will go out to members during the first two weeks of July and will close in early August.

- Formal vetting process facilitated by the Nominations & Elections Committee (NEC) begins immediately following the close of nominations. Following completed vetting by early September, the slate of nominees will be presented to the Board of Directors for final approval.
- Slate of Candidates will be posted for public viewing until the end of September.
- Voting occurs between the beginning and middle of October.
- Verification of votes will occur after the voting closes; results will be presented to the Board of Directors. All candidates will be notified of their election results by the President-elect.
- Final election results will be announced once all candidates have been notified.
- Newly elected Directors will complete Board Orientation in November
- Newly elected Directors and Nominations & Elections committee members will begin service in their new positions on January 1, 2025.
In anticipation of this process, two inaugural AAENP Nominations & Elections Committee (NEC) members have been appointed by the President - Luis Gino Guzman, MHA, MSN, APN, FNP-BC, CEN, TCRN of New Jersey, and Antoaneta Fitzpatrick, NP-C, RN, FNE-A, MSN, BSN, of Virginia. The 2024 NEC is chaired by President-elect Dr. Judson Smith. This committee is tasked to ensure that voting processes are enacted according to organizational bylaws, policies, and procedures.
