It is with great sadness that IBPSA announces the loss of our dear friend, Dan Talbott, who unexpectedly passed away last Tuesday evening. Dan was a valued member of the IBPSA Advisory Board, bringing years of experience in Cyber Security and other safety practices to the IBPSA membership. Most recently, he re-designed and consolidated the IBPSA Safety Manual, volunteering many hours to bring this resource to IBPSA members. Always ready with a quip or a funny comment, Dan had planned on being the “tech guy” again at this year’s conference, which goes to show how much he valued this community. We valued him greatly and he will be missed.

An avid outdoorsman, Dan was active as a leader in the Boy Scouts, and was the leader of the security team at his church in Plano, Tx. He loved working on his farm in his retirement and often answered calls from atop his tractor. Dan is survived by his wife Cathy, their four children and six grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be sent to Friday Night Friends and Bed Start at Custer Road United Methodist Church, 6601 Custer Road, Plano, TX 75023.
