WSAE Chair's Message: Summer Continues to Be Busy in the Association World, and at WSAE!
|
By Denise Husenica, MBA, CAE, International Standards Manager, National Fluid Power Association
WSAE Chair of the Board of Directors
According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac, we are officially in the Dog Days of Summer which began on July 3 and continues through August 11. I hope that you are taking time to enjoy the long days and HOT Wisconsin weather with family and friends. Even though this time of year is filled with vacations, relaxation and fun, I also know that some of you may already be counting down the days to when school is back in session and life returns to normal.
In the association business, I’m not sure if there is a back to normal time in the calendar year.

How did you end up working in Associations?
I was referred by a dear friend who told me about a job opening for a program manager position, so I applied. Like many entering the association field, I was unfamiliar with the industry. I really enjoyed working with our members and organizing workshops. EDI was very supportive of my professional development and provided opportunities for me to grow and learn. After seeing how much opportunity the association field has to offer, I knew this was the industry for me.
